Basics

This is a gentle Hatha Yoga session focuses on your specific alignment needs while honoring your mental and emotional state. We will modify and amplify postures with props (such as chairs, walls, blocks, bolsters, pillows, blankets, iPads, sensory toys, handicap equipment, therapeutic equipment, etc.) in order to enhance your practice through alignment and breath. This class involves breathing exercises, foundational postures and poses, and a brief introduction to the 8 Limbs of Yoga. This session ends with stillness (Savasana).

Stillness

This is a Yoga Nidra & Meditation session focused on bringing stillness into the body to release emotional and mental stress, rest the nervous system, and balance the natural energies within your body. This session explores deep relaxation either laying on the floor or seating in a chair (or any position that is best for you) and optional use of Crystal Sound Bowls and other unique instruments for Sound Healing Meditations. This session ends with a brief, guided breathing exercise (Pranayama).

Stretch

This is a Yin Yoga session focused on stretching a targeted area of your body to release tension and stress that has built up in that area. This session involves holding restorative Yoga poses for 5-7 minutes while the body is supported by pillows and blankets. We will modify and amplify postures with props (such as chairs, walls, blocks, bolsters, pillows, blankets, iPads, sensory toys, handicap equipment, therapeutic equipment, etc.) in order to enhance your practice through alignment and breath. This class ends in a mantra-based, guided meditation and stillness that also focuses on releasing emotions and tensions in that certain part of the body.

Move

This is a modified Vinyasa Yoga session focused on moving and stretching the body part that is most appropriate in strategic postures release tension and stress that has built up in that area. This session involves moving with the breath in safe yet effective ways. We will modify and amplify postures with props (such as chairs, walls, blocks, bolsters, pillows, blankets, iPads, sensory toys, handicap equipment, therapeutic equipment, etc.) in order to enhance your practice through alignment and breath. This class ends in a short, guided meditation and stillness (Savasana).

Strength

This is an Ashtanga Yoga session exploring the traditional Ashtanga Primary One Series popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois. The sequence builds upon each previous postures and the practitioner only moves on through the sequence once each posture feels accomplished by the practitioner and ready to move forward. This session involves many movements through postures and much strength building for the mind, body, and spirit. This is recommended if you are trying to build a long-term, realistic yoga practice to incorporate into your lifestyle and use as a daily practice. This class ends in a short stillness (Savasana).
